Local golfer Heena Kang took the lead with a score of 3­-under par 69 on the first day of the Sardar Wazir Singh Memorial Championship at Chandigarh Golf Club. Heena recently representing India at the Queen Sirikit Cup in Japan.

Twelve-year-old Ojasawini Saraswat brought in the second best score of 74. Goody Malhi leads in the Nett Division with a score of 70 followed by Binny Bath at 72.
