Hold PU Senate polls immediately: MP
Rajya Sabha MP Dr Vikramjit Singh Sahney on Friday appealed to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Chancellor of the Panjab University to hold the University Senate elections without any further delay.
Sahney explained that the tenure of elected Senate ended on October 31, 2024, and even the Syndicate's tenure expired on December 31 last year.
He said as of today Panjab University is operating without a governing body and students of Panjab University have been protesting for over two months.
Dr Sahney reiterated that structure of Panjab University where Punjab is a significant stakeholder should not be changed
