From an international swimming coach to a stunt double for Hollywood actor Giancarlo Esposito in the famous OTT series Kaleidoscope, Atiba Wade has come a long way.
In Chandigarh to teach (under a coaching camp organised by Wave Guard Club) swimming coaches of Punjab, Chandigarh and Nepal, Wade is supervising an important task of training the experts to prepare the future swimmers.
A total of 14 coaches from Punjab, 13 from Nepal and two from Chandigarh are attending this course. Wade, a former swimmer, has the credit to train professional swimmers in the US.
“You never know where life takes you. Being a swimmer helped me a lot in developing my overall character. I wish such clinics should have been introduced in the early 90s. Such events are really important to make coaches familiar with how to work while having a handful of resources,” said Wade. While talking about swimming culture in India, he added, “India has a great potential. As like other countries, a coach plays an important role in developing such a culture. A coach has to take out the talent from his/her trainee, and nurture it for years. It’s a difficult task, and one has to be very strict and focused in imparting coaching.”
