Chandigarh: Dr Kewal Krishan, Professor and former Chair of the Department of Anthropology, Panjab University, has been appointed as an associate editor of an international and reputed journal, “Journal of Infection in Developing Countries”. The journal is being published from 2007 with its headquarters at the University of Sassari, Italy. Krishan has been offered this position on the basis of his work on the interface of anthropology, forensic science and Covid-19 infection during the last two years of the pandemic. In this journal, he published six articles focusing on medico-legal death investigations, survival of the fittest and forensic radiology facility and their relationship to the pandemic. TNS

Five-day workshop
Chandigarh: A five-day workshop on ‘Learning Start-Up Skills’ for PhD scholars was organised by the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC). It was inaugurated by Prof Sudhir Kumar, Director, HRDC. Prof Sudhir emphasised the need for initiating start-ups by PU students to serve the community and common people. Jayanti Dutta, Deputy Director, HRDC, explained the dire need to make PU research scholars ready for the upcoming challenge for entrepreneurship and owning start-ups to enhance positive contributions of the intellectual capital to the development of society.
