Himachal CM releases book on astrology

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today released a book, ‘Astrology Ek Vigyaan’, penned by Himachal Sahitya Akademi Award winner Gurmit Bedi.
}Gurmit Bedi is a prolific writer, touching various genres of literature. His three-decade research work on astrology has helped resolve prevailing myths.
Thakur said astrology was an ancient science, capable of accurate calculations and predictions based on the position of planets, constellations and celestial bodies. He said astrology had been referred to as the sixth eye in the ancient Indian vedas, adding that Indian sages had done extensive research on astrology and wrote several scriptures.
The CM said: “Gurmit Bedi is a prolific writer, touching various genera of literature. His three-decade research work on astrology has helped resolve prevailing myths. The work is a sincere effort to present astrology as the complete science.”
Bedi has already authored nine books and three novels. Besides, the Himachal Academy Award, he is also a recipient of several national and international awards.
