DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, organised a webinar on ‘How to catch fake, predatory and cloned journals in academics’. Various ways to detect unauthentic journals were discussed.

Dr Sumit Narula, Director, Amity School of Communication, Madhya Pradesh, was the resource person.

Narula highlighted fake journals sites vis-à-vis the role of the UGC Care List, Scopus and Web of Science. He discussed various measures through which academic community could publish their research work.

He discussed points for identifying fake and cloned journals. He pointed out that some of them were using cloned websites with the same logo and ISSN number. “Check for UGC Care List and Scopus data before submitting your work to any journal,” said Dr Narula. — TNS
