Chandigarh, December 16

If elected to power in the MC, the Congress will terminate the contract with sanitation firms and review new waste processing plant project proposal.

Subhash Chawla, president of the Chandigarh Congress, stated this while addressing a press conference at the Congress Bhawan in Sector 35 here today.

He also demanded a CBI inquiry into the acts of “corruption of the BJP-led corporation”.

Chawla said the UT Electricity Department was running into profits and contributing hundreds of crores of rupees to the UT Administration. Despite this, the BJP was all set to privatise the department and hand it over to one of its “cronies”. The sanitary condition of the city roads has turned from bad to worse.
