Chandigarh: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is providing academic support to students through online counselling sessions in various disciplines. Various sessions have been conducted through Gyan Darshan, Gyan Vani, Google Meet, Google Classrooms, Facebook and Twitter, among others. Dr Anil Kumar Dimri, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre, said, “The Regional Centre has conducted induction meeting of each of its study centre, separately for the learners of January 2020 session through Facebook.” TNS
Webinar at PU History Department
Chandigarh:As many as 600 participants took part in a webinar on ‘Epidemics across the ages’ wherein historical, socio-cultural and medical ramifications of epidemics were discussed at the Department of History, Panjab University. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar directed the attention of the participants towards the need to learn from lessons of the past while facing challenges posed by present crisis. TNS
55 units of blood collected
Khamano: A blood donation camp was organised at Khamano in which donors belonging to Bharat Vikas Parishad, Baldev Sports and Welfare Club and others donated blood. A team of doctors from the PGIMER, Chandigarh, collected blood in their sanitised bus at the office of Khamano SDM. Only two donors at a time were allowed inside the bus. All precautions were taken and social distancing norm was observed at the camp, which was inaugurated by Gurpreet Singh GP, MLA, Bassi Pathana, and Baba Sarabjit Singh Bhalla Barwaliwale, a social activist.
