As part of the ongoing drive launched by the Punjab Government to eradicate drugs from the state, the Rupnagar police and the administration demolished an illegal building of a couple booked under the NDPS Act. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Himanshu Jain and Rupnagar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) three cases under the NDPS Act were registered against a man and his wife, identified as Salim Mohammad and Asha, residents of Sadabrat village, Nangal Road, Rupnagar. The couple was allegedly involved in drug business.
