Two days after seizing over 2,500 cases of illicit liquor in Daria, the Excise Department raided a warehouse in the Transport Area on Saturday night, uncovering a fresh cache of illegal liquor stored without the mandatory departmental approval.

According to officials, barcodes on the liquor bottles had been deliberately removed to prevent the identification of their source. The deliberate tampering suggested a larger operation aimed at evading regulatory checks and tracing mechanisms.

Sources said the godown owner, whose identity was not officially disclosed yet, was a repeat violator. It is learnt that given the repeated offence, it was highly probable that the accused would now face a ban from obtaining any future excise licence.
