Illegal occupants evicted from Dadu Majra units
Chandigarh, July 18
The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) today carried out an eviction drive against illegal occupants at Dadu Majra.
Yashpal Garg, Chief Executive Officer, CHB, said a team sealed one dwelling unit and got three houses vacated from unauthorised occupants at Dadu Majra. The three houses were illegally constructed on CHB land and one was occupied unauthorisedly, he said.
Since the occupants had failed to peacefully hand over the possession of the units to the authority within the prescribed time, the CHB carried out the eviction drive in the locality. The belongings of the occupants were removed before sealing the houses. The possession of the four dwelling units had been taken over by the CHB, he said, adding that the building violations at these dwelling units were also removed.
Garg said charges for illegal occupation and the cost of demolition would be recovered from the occupants.
