Chandigarh: Over a week after a theft in a temple was reported at Ram Darbar, the District Crime Cell (DCC) of the Chandigarh police have arrested a 24-year-old man in this regard. The accused identified as Bharat, a resident of EWS Colony, Dhanas, has been arrested and Rs 12,700 and a knife recovered from his possession. Complainant Pawan Tiwari had reported the theft. The suspect entered the Shiv Temple around 2.50 am on December 27. Sources said that the suspect had stolen 50,000 from donation boxes.
Mobile phone snatched
Chandigarh: A scooter-borne miscreant reportedly snatched a mobile phone from a Sector 34 resident. Complainant Sumeet Sharma stated that the incident took place on the Sector 32/33 road. The police have registered a case at the Sector 34 police station in this regard.
House burgled in Dhanas
Chandigarh: A theft was reported at a house in Dhanas. Complainant Rohit reported that gold and silver jewellery was stolen from his house. A case has been registered at the Sarangpur police station.
Cash stolen from booth
Chandigarh: Unknown persons stole eatables and cash from a Vita booth in Sector 42. The complainant reported that chocolates, peanut butter, ghee boxes, milk crates and cash were stolen.
