Rowers from city bag silver

City rowers Jaspal Singh and Ramanpal Singh bagged silver medals in the lightweight double scull category during the Khelo India Watersports in Srinagar. Both medallists are trainees of the Khelo India State Excellence Centre, Chandigarh. The winning pair trained under the guidance of coach Gurjeet Singh, with manager Seerat Sohal providing key support throughout the championship.

Virk elected BFI panel member

DSP Charanjit Singh Virk, also general secretary of Chandigarh Amateur Boxing Association, has been elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Boxing Federation of India. Virk got 36 votes out of the total 66 during the annual general meeting of the federation held at NCR Delhi. Virk had represented the country at various meets and won several medals during the early 1980s.
