Youth held for raping minor in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: A 20-year-old youth has been arrested by the Chandigarh Police on the charge of raping a minor girl. The suspect has been identified as Lalit. Sources said he allegedly raped the victim at her house when she was alone. The victim narrated the incident to her parents who then approached the police. The suspect was produced in a local court, which remanded him in judicial custody. TNS

Dera Bassi: The police have booked a 24-year-old youth for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl on the pretext of marrying her. The suspect has been identified as Rohit, a resident of Gulabgarh. The victim is a resident of Batala, who had come to visit her relatives here where she met the suspect. The police said she stated that Rohit raped her repeatedly, but later refused to marry her. A case has been registered. TNS
