Liver clinic at Chaitanya Hospital, Chandigarh

Chandigarh: Rela Hospital, Chennai, has started a paediatric liver treatment clinic at Chaitanya Hospital in the city. Prof Mohamed Rela and his team will conduct OPD at the clinic twice a month. Dr Jagadeesh Menon, consultant, paediatric hepatology, said, “Liver diseases in children are grossly under recognised. Many children come to institutions in advanced stages. This clinic will give easy access to treatment for paediatric liver diseases.” TNS

MC launches e-office app

Chandigarh: The Municipal Corporation has come up with a new e-office application. The new digital gateway will help cut internal procedures, which were based on manual handling of files and paper movement. Man held with banned vials

Chandigarh: A 35-year-old man has been arrested for possessing 50 banned injections. According to the police, the suspect, identified as Suraj, alias Kala, a resident of Mauli Complex, was arrested near the Vikas Nagar light point. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at the Mauli Jagran police station. TNS

Man alleges assault by wife

Panchkula: A 40-year-old man from Pinjore filed a complaint against his wife for allegedly assaulting him. Complainant Amit Asthana told the police that his wife Sonal hit him on the head with an iron rod. TNS

Godown gutted in Zirakpur

Zirakpur: A major fire was reported from an electronic appliance godown at Nabha Sahib on the Patiala road in Zirakpur around 9.30 pm on Thursday. Twelve fire engines from Dera Bassi, Air Force Station and Zirakpur were pressed into service. No loss of life was reported. Panic gripped the area as huge clouds of smoke were witnessed. The cause of the fire was not immediately known. TNS
