Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Wushu team has won nine medals in the 25th Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship, at KSR College of Engineering, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu. Competing against 29 states, the local team secured nine medals, including three gold, two silver and four bronze medals. In the Sanda (Combat) category, Bhaumika (U-45kg), Dev Narain (U-42kg) and Kritika (U-39kg) claimed gold medals, while Dishita (U-26 kg) and Kapil (U-39 kg) claimed silver medal each. Somya Yadav (U-48 kg), Dilpreet Kaur (U-52 kg) and Kunal (U-60 kg) won bronze medal each. In the Taolu (Form) category, Neelanshi claimed gold medal.

Titans beat Neeral Cricket Learning

Chandigarh: In the ongoing Little Champs U-13 Cricket League, TDL Titans Panchkula to beat Neeral Cricket Learning, Mohali, by 101 runs. Batting first, the Panchkula team posted 229/4 in 25 overs with the help of Aman Dora (76), Naksh (59), Aitan Nain (33) and Harshit Aujla (26). Japdeep Singh claimed two wickets for the bowling side. In reply, the Mohali team bundled out at 128.

Association founder member dies

Chandigarh: Jagpal Singh, a founder member of Chandigarh Roller Skating Association, has passed away. He had joined the UT Sports Department as hockey coach and was promoted to senior sports officer. He was one of the members of the department, who had framed rules of sports council and gave shape to the Sector 10 Skating Rink. He retired as senior sports officer. Jagpal Singh played skating hockey with the Maharaja of Patiala during his early days.

Skating carnival concludes

Panchkula: Cheshta Yadav and Vihaan Khullar won the group champion title in the girls’ U-8 inline event, during the recently concluded New India High School Skating Carnival. In the girls’ U-10 quads event, Mayra Tholia claimed the group championship and in the boys’ event, Kabir Mitter won the overall gold. In the girls’ U-10 inline event, Narpendyah Choudhary won gold medal while Parth won boys’ event. In the boys’ U-12 quads event, Abhinav Yadav claimed gold medal, while Navya Kumar claimed the girls’ event. In the girls’ inline event, Prisha Hooda won gold medal and in the boys’ event, Riditya Jhalaria bagged the gold. In the girls’ U-15 quad event, Diya Arora and Angelina won title, and in the inline event Japjot Singh won gold medal and Vibhuti Dogra won the gold.
