Chandigarh: The UT police have registered cheating cases against immigration consultants for cheating people on the pretext of sending them abroad. One Satish Kumar of Yamunanagar alleged that Raman Singh, owner of an immigration consultancy in Sector 22, duped him of Rs 1.1 lakh. A case has been registered at the Sector 17 Police Station. In another incident complainant Afzal, a resident of Mauli Jagran, and others alleged that Mohammad Yamin has cheated them of Rs 3 lakh. A case has been registered at the Mauli Jagran Police Station.

Mobile snatcher arrested

Chandigarh: The UT Police have arrested a man for snatching a mobile phone from a 14-year-old boy at Mani Majra. In his complaint. Mahesh Pal of Mauli Jagran said he, along with his nephew, had gone to a bank at NAC, Mani Majra. As Mahesh went inside the bank, his nephew waited for him in an e-rickshaw. In the meantime, a scooter-borne miscreant snatched mobile phone from the boy and sped away. During investigation accused as Bilal (24), a resident of Sector 15, Panchkula, was arrested from near Sports Complex, Mani Majra. The scooter used in the crime, which was stolen from Panchkula, had also been recovered.
