Heavy rain accompanied by hailstorm lashed Chandigarh and its neighbouring areas on Thursday afternoon, leading to a drop in temperature and bringing much-needed relief from the heat.

The hailstorm lasted over 15 minutes.

The ground turned white as it was covered by hailstones.

The traffic movement was also affected in several parts of the city as two-wheeler riders were seen running for cover.
