Stating this, Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said eight positive patients had been cured and were discharged from the hospital, taking the number of patients to have recovered from the disease so far to 379.

“We are fully equipped to address the challenge posed by the increasing number of patients; requisite men and material are in place and saving precious lives is our primary focus,” said the Deputy Commissioner.

Making an appeal to the public to adhere to safety protocols, Dayalan said the new cases were primarily the contacts of already active cases.
