An Independent candidate, Gopal Sukhomajri, on Monday filed his nomination papers for the Kalka Assembly seat. Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Dr Yash Garg said Gopa, a resident of Sukhomajri village, had filed nomination papers in before Kalka SDM-cum-returning officer Rajesh Punia.
He said the nomination process had been started as soon as the notification for the elections was issued.
The nomination papers can be filed on any working day from 11 am to 3 pm till September 12. The papers will be scrutinised on September 13 and can be withdrawn on September 16.
He said one can file an application for Kalka Assembly constituency at SDM office, Kalka, and at SDM court for Panchkula Assembly constituency in Panchkula city.
Meanwhile, Gopal, who was accompanied by numerous supporters during his road-show to the SDM office said the slammed the government over issues such as unemployment, bad condition of roads and sewer lines.
