India International Science Festival to be held in Panchkula from Dec 6 to 9

Will be hosted in North India for the first time; Chief Secy inspects venue

The India International Science Festival (IISF) 2025, organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, will be held from December 6 to 9 at the Dussehra Ground in Sector 5, Panchkula. This marks the first time that the prestigious festival is being hosted in North India.

Thousands of students, young researchers and science enthusiasts from across the country are expected to participate in the festival. Senior scientists and researchers from ISRO, DRDO and other leading scientific institutions will also mark their presence and take part in various sessions and interactive programmes.

To review preparations, Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi inspected the venue today and issued necessary directions to officials concerned. He said, “The event is a matter of pride for Haryana, especially for Panchkula, and will help promote scientific thinking and innovation.” Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, DCP Srishti Gupta, SDM Jagriti, other district administration officials and representatives from the Government of India were also present on the occasion.

The 11th edition of IISF 2025 is being held on the theme “Science for Prosperity: Towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat.” The festival aims to showcase India’s progress towards becoming a science-and innovation-driven nation. The event will include a grand exhibition, thematic conclaves, a startup showcase, interaction sessions between students and scientists, and a range of public outreach activities aligned with national priorities.

The India International Science Festival seeks to increase public interest in science, encourage innovation and inspire young people to contribute to the fields of science and technology.
