Indian Railways thrash Bihar by 8 wickets in JP Atray meet
Indian Railways defeated Bihar Players-11 by eight wickets in the 29th All-India JP Atray Cricket Tournament.
Batting first, the Bihar outfit were bundled out at 75 runs in 21.2 overs. Captain Inderjit Kumar scored the highest 31 runs and Sahaz Kumar 15. IPL famed player right-arm leg spinner Karan Sharma remained the pick of the bowlers as he claimed four wickets. Akshay Pandey claimed three.
In reply, the Railways batter Navneet Virk (36) and Samarth Vyas (28) scored runs to ensure an easy win for the side. Akhat claimed two wickets for the bowling side.
In the second match, Punjab Cricket Club (PCC) beat CAG by four wickets. The CAG batters scored 164/7 in the allotted 24 overs. Varun Lavade scored 45, Himanshu Rana 33, Sanvir Singh 33, Karan Kaila 17 and Gaurav Gambhir was unbeaten at 15. Simranjeet Singh claimed three wickets, while Dipin Chitkara claimed two. Gaurav Choudhary and Manav Vashisht claimed one wicket each for the bowling side.
In reply, the PCC lads achieved the target in 23.3 overs with the loss of six wickets. Sahaj Dhawan scored a quickfire 64 off 53 balls, including one six and six boundaries. His innings was ably supported by Anshul Chaudhary (35), Gaurav Choudhary (25) and Madhav Pathania (16). Prayas Ray Barman claimed the highest three wickets for the bowling side, followed by Sanvir Singh, who claimed two, and Debabrata Pradhan, who picked one.
In the third match, Haryana Cricket Association defeated Chhatisgarh State Cricket Sangh by five wickets. Batting first, the Chattisgarh lads posted 218/8 with the help of Dev Aditya Singh (44), Anand Rao (41), Sangeet Soni (36), Rahul Pradhan (29) and Aishwary Marya (20).
Piyush Dahiya claimed a five-wicket haul, while Vats and Lakshay Sangwan both claimed a wicket each for the bowling side. In reply, the Haryana team achieved the target in 38 overs as Yuvraj scored 87 off 81 balls, including three sixes and 10 boundaries. Srvesh Rohilla scored unbeaten 65 off 61 balls. Dev Aditya Singh and Aishwary Marya both claimed two wickets each for the bowling side.
In the fourth match, Punjab Cricket Association Colts beat JK cricket Association by five wickets. Soni Cricket Club beat Rann Star Cricket Club, Delhi, by a huge margin of 128 runs.
