Indo-German workshop on sustainable energy at CSIO, Chandigarh
Chandigarh, February 22
A three-day Indo-German workshop on ‘Computational Intelligence for Sustainable Energy and Mobility Systems’ is being conducted at the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) here. The aim of the event is to establish a collaborative platform for exploring the application of computational intelligence techniques in sustainable energy and mobility systems.
In his inaugural address, CSIO Director Prof Shantanu Bhattacharya delved into the challenges faced by the sustainable energy and mobility sectors and acknowledged the need for sustained electric vehicle (EV) demand. He also highlighted India’s commitment to energy self-reliance and the transformation of the mobility sector through initiatives like the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan-2020 and the Niti Aayog’s ‘3-C framework’ for making mobility clean, convenient and congestion-free.
The workshop, being coordinated by Dr Satish Kumar, chief scientist at CSIO, and Dr Marco Pruckner from the University of Würzburg, brings together researchers, practitioners and industry experts from India and Germany to facilitate sharing of knowlege, promote collaboration and advance innovation in the domains of sustainable energy and mobility.
