Gang of thieves busted, nine in police net
pickup van and a large number of stolen items, including groceries, medicines and sedative tablets worth Rs50 lakh, were recovered from the suspects. They further said the gang had stolen three more Mahindra pickup vans. The cops said the suspects had revealed that they had carried out three thefts in the Zirakpur area and one in Shahimajra.
One of the suspects, Sahil, has done a course in hotel management while Munish was doing D Pharmacy. Jasvir Singh and Ishu were illiterate while the other suspects had studied till Class VIII to XII.
The officials said Ishu had already been booked in five cases while Sahib Singh was facing two cases, Munish one and Jasvir Singh eight cases registered in different police stations. Sahil and Sulabh are brothers while Sahil and Jasvir Singh are a father-son duo. All suspects were produced in a court which remanded them in five-day police custody.
