IT Park police station adjudged best in Chandigarh

The Chandigarh Police today announced the city’s best-performing police stations for August this year. The IT Park police station secured the top position, the Sarangpur police station was placed second and the one at the Industrial Area third.

SSP Kanwardeep Kaur released the results following an evaluation of all police stations across multiple parameters.

Officials said the police stations were evaluated on several key indicators of policing efficiency, including community policing initiatives, citizen feedback through QR codes, recoveries under special local laws and overall case disposal. Special emphasis was laid on the timely conclusion of investigations (within 60 and 90 days), as required under the newly implemented criminal laws, along with the number of cases decided.

The SSP noted that the ranking exercise was designed to foster healthy competition among police stations, improve service delivery and reinforce citizen-friendly policing practices. The assessment also reflected the administration’s focus on ensuring justice within stricter timelines, thereby enhancing transparency and public trust.

“The aim is to build greater confidence among citizens through efficient policing and responsive service,” the SSP said.
