Vipin Chauhan from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh was posted at the CBI office in Sector 30, Chandigarh.

Chauhan had been living alone in a rented flat in Raipur Khurd. Concern grew when his family was unable to reach him for two days. Upon being alerted, the Chandigarh Police broke open his locked room on Sunday night and found his body lying on the bed. No suicide note was found. His body was sent to GMCH-32 for post-mortem, and later handed over to his family.
