panchkula, July 5

The district reported just one fresh Covid-19 case today, taking the overall tally to 30,598. With no death, the Covid toll stood at 375. While 30,195 patients have recovered from the infectious disease so far, 28 cases are still active.

The recovery rate stands at 98.68 per cent. Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh said the efforts put in by the district administration and the Health Department had led to a considerable reduction in Covid-19 cases in the district.

“Though there has been a decline in the number of cases, people still need to be cautious as the pandemic is far from over,” he said. He urged people to remain vigilant and continue to follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour.

The Civil Surgeon, Dr Jasjeet Kaur, said speedy vaccination was the only way to beat the pandemic and prevent a third wave. On shortage of the vaccine, she said she would take up the matter with senior officials.
