Jasmine Rawat and Naina Trehan defeated Mannat Saini and Tridha 21-18 21-15 to reach the girls’ U-19 doubles final at the Chandigarh State Badminton Championship here today.
In the final, the duo will face Mili Verma and Vrinda Rana, who registered a 21-9 21-13 win over Priya Sharma and Shreya in the semifinals.
In the mixed doubles U-19 semifinals, Swapnil and Mili drubbed Kartik Khurmi and Nandini 21-9 21-7.
Gurtaaj and Nimit Pal ousted Astuj Sabherwal and Bhavin Garg 21-8 21-1 to enter the boys’ U-13 doubles semifinals.
Aarush Sharma and Tushya thrashed Gagan and Ishit Rehal 21-11 21-17, while Garv Vashit and Yug Parmar outplayed Anish and Kushal 21-19 21-10 in the quarters.
Pratibha eased into the girls’ U-13 semifinals with a 21-11 21-9 win over Jennis. Ridhima Saini hammered Anika Sharma 21-8 21-8, while Gursimrat packed off Aradhya Acharya 21-3 21-4.
Vanshika defeated Kaashvi Sood 21-9 21-16 in the quarters.
In the girls’ U-15 competition, Jasmeet Kaur registered a 21-17 21-13 win over Jaskamal Kaur in the quarterfinals.
Anu Priya downed Amulya 21-12 21-9, while Ashnoor Kaur came from behind to beat Rakshita Pahwa 16-21 21-12 26-24. Raissa Bhanot secured a 21-16 21-17 victory against Aujasvi Dhaneshwer.
In the girls’ U-15 doubles event, Anupriya and Jaskamal trounced Ishveen and Manisha 21-11 21-9, while Avishi Sood and Raissa Bhanot hammered Aakriti and Vaanya Rao 21-7 21-2. Jasleen Kaur and Mihika Thakur ousted Harimran Kaur and Navdeep Kaur 21-14 21-13.
Ashnoor and Jasmeet Kaur edged out Ashvi Bahardwaj and Tanishka Nadal 21-19 21-9.
Anika Sharma and Pratibha defeated Divya Rao and Suksehaj Kaur 21-10 21-5 to seal a berth in the girls’ U-13 doubles semifinals. — TNS
