Chandigarh, April 18

Dhandeep Doley and Kumar Pankaj Vats from SSBUICET, Panjab University, claimed first prize in the artistic event namely “Fashion It Up” where participants had to paint discarded clothes and shoes during the ongoing Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), PECFest’2021-22.

A quiz, “VIRSA”, was also organised which tested the cultural knowledge of the home state of Punjab among the students. Many competitions like “Chakravyuh”, “Film Festival”, “Valorant Gaming” and “Branding Competition” were organised that saw a huge participation from several colleges.

Various events related to core engineering, including “Aquajet”, “Glider Flying” and “A Fraction of Trivia” to test students’ knowledge on core subjects were also conducted. Some online events, including, “Tell-A-Tale”, which was organised by APC, and “Qissa”, a storytelling competition, was orgranised by the Punjabi Editorial Board in collaboration with the Dramatics Club.

The major events included an art exhibition, “Kriti”, set up by the Art and Photograpghy Club of PEC. A cultural event showcasing the folk dance forms of Punjab namely “Rang Punjab De” and the “Rap Battle” was also organised. Some enthralling technical events included “Technothon” and “Ultimate Coding Showdown” which made students rush their brains and implement the core engineering concepts practically. Team Arcane won first prize for “Concrete Frisbee” organsied by ASCE. Bismanjot Kaur Bindra and Sparsh Sharma won first prize for “Glider Flying” organised by Aerospace Technical Society.

Manpreet Singh also presented a short comedy act to spread laughter in the auditorium. Later, the star night evening started with a mesmerising performance by The Yellow Diary band. Singer Javed Ali took the stage and brought down the curtains on the three-day annual fest of PEC. The star nite gathered a lot of audience from the tricity and students from various colleges of Chandigarh.
