Jaya Kapoor overpowered Aadirai KA in straight sets 6-0 6-1 in the first round qualifying match for girls of the J200 World Tennis Tour Juniors Tournament at the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) complex, Sector 10. Riya Sachdeva also moved ahead by defeating Snigdha Ruhil 6-4 6-3, while Anushka Bhola defeated Ajenika Puri 6-0 6-1.

Prachi Malik also stormed into the next round by defeating Rubani Kaur Sidhu 6-3 6-1, and Kazakhstan Yerkezhan Zhanatayeva ousted Saanvi Misra 7-5 6-0. Swasti Singh defeated Mansi Singh 6-2 6-2, while Australian Gurmanat Kaur Sandhu defeated Aahida Singh 6-2 6-3. Harshini N Nagaraj outplayed Nancy Singh 6-4 6-0.

Nepal’s Sunira Thapa moved into the next round by logging a comeback 3-6 6-3 (10-8) win over Parthsarthi Arun Mundhe, and Divya Ungrish easily defeated Shrawasti Kundilya 6-1 7-6(2).

In the boys’ category, Aashravya Mehra outclassed Shubham Kaushik 6-0 6-0 without conceding a single game. Nikita Nikolenko of Kazakhstan also marched ahead by recording an identical 6-0 6-0 win over Indian contender Divvansh Dhupar. Second seed Samarth Sahita defeated Aarya Vaibhav Nigam 6-1 6-1, and Praneel Sharma also marched without losing a single game against Shorya Jishtu. Sharan Somasi defeated Anuj Pal 6-3 6-4, and Korea’s Dongmin Kim faced a tough resistance against Dev Vipul Patel 5-7 6-2 (10-8). Tanussh Ghildyal was leading 5-4 against Germany’s Vincent Dullinger before the latter conceded the match. Indian challenger, Shanker Heisnam defeated Shourya Bhattacharya of the US in straight sets 6-2 6-1 and Uttam Karthik defeated Ayaan Choudhary 6-2 2-6(10-8).

Daniel Tazabekov and Thailand’s Kunanan Pantaratorn recorded an identical 6-0 6-0 win over Ribhav Saroha and Abhinav Bisht, respectively, while Adhiraj Thakur stunned Abhinav Sangra with a 6-3 6-2 verdict. Aditya Mor defeated Vraj Gohil 7-6(3) 6-3 and Kuan-Huai Mao of Chinese Taipei defeated Swatanter Veer Singh Kajal 6-0 6-1.
