Badminton meet: Jayesh logs win in opening tie

Jayesh Duggal defeated Kanav in the opening boys’ U-11 match during the 16th Ashwani Gupta Memorial District Badminton Championship at Tau Devi Lal Stadium here today. Duggal logged a (21-1, 21-2) win over Kanav.

Hreeday Bansal ousted Viran Kaushal (21-3, 21-3), while Arihan overpowered Veer Machel (21-18, 17-21, 21-19). Ridhav Goyal blanked Vansah Goyal (21-17, 25-23). In the boys’ U-13 category, Akshay defeated Ayushman Singh Thakur (21-2, 21-3). Aryan Makkar registered a (21-2, 21-4) win over Parth, while Kartik defeated Arnav Jain (21-13, 21-15). Ashutosh outplayed Aayan Garg (21-12, 21-11), Aarav Garg defeated Jayawarden (21-7, 21-9), whereas Abhideep ousted Aayush Mittal (21-7, 21-8). Kenaz overpowered Asmee (21-7, 21-8) to move ahead in the girls’ U-11 category.

Earlier, the championship was inaugurated by Sandeep Singh, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Haryana, Gian Chand Gupta, Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, and Jatinder Kumar Mahajan, organising secretary.
