Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) JE applicants today protested outside the Haryana Staff Selection Commission headquarters for “awarding marks on the basis of socio-economic status to candidates of other states, which should have been given only to those with Haryana domicile.”
Raising slogans against the Haryana Government and the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, the protesters said the HSSC was deceiving the youth and violating their rights.
One of the protesters, Rohit Kumar, said the HSSC had mentioned in an advertisement notice that marks of socio-economic status would be given to people of Haryana only. But during recruitment, these marks were given to those from other states, too. He said exams were held in August and September, the results of which were declared recently. He said it was found that most of the students selected were from outside the state.
Protesters demanded that marks should only be given to those with Haryana domicile. They said if their demands were not met, then they would gherao ministers and launch an agitation against the commission and the state government.
