A comprehensive field visit was conducted by Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry joint secretary Gurneet Tej to review the progress of Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain 2025.
During the visit, the Tej inspected key water conservation assets including rainwater harvesting systems, Amrit Sarovars and sewage treatment plants across the city.
The joint secretary also expressed satisfaction over Chandigarh’s efficient water management practices and appreciated the commendable efforts of the MC and its officials.
She praised the well-maintained Amrit Sarovars and the extensive network of rainwater harvesting structures, stating that Chandigarh is “close to becoming an ideal model for rainwater harvesting in the country.”
