BJP councillor Saurabh Joshi has alleged tampering with minutes of the Finance & Contract Committee (F&CC) meeting of the Municipal Corporation held on September 26.

Joshi said he had moved a proposal, related to the extension of permission for festive stalls till Gurpurab (November 5), in view of the ongoing festive season and the Centre’s ‘GST Utsav’ celebrations. The proposal was duly supported by the Mayor and all F&CC members and was passed during the meeting.

However, upon receiving the official minutes this evening, it was shocking to note that the proposal and passed resolution were deliberately deleted by the officials responsible for recording the minutes, he claimed. “It is unfortunate that such manipulation of official records is being done within the MC. It also reflects malafide intention of certain officers, who appear to place themselves above the General House and F&CC,” he said.

Joshi added that he will file a formal complaint before the UT Administrator, seeking an impartial inquiry and disciplinary action against officials responsible for altering the minutes of the meeting.

He also demanded that the original proposal and resolution be restored in the official minutes and that strong safeguards be implemented to prevent such tampering and manipulation in the future.
