Panchkula, July 7
No fresh stock of Covid vaccines arrived in the district today against the expectations of the health authorities.
Only 795 doses were administered today – the lowest since June 21 when the Centre’s new vaccine policy came into place.
The vaccine figure stood at 2,354 on Monday, while it was 1410 on Tuesday.
Low vaccination rate is likely to persist tomorrow with only 280 doses of Covishield and 4,450 doses of Covaxin left in the stock. The local Health Department has set up only 10 centres.
For those between 18-44 years, there would be only one centre where Covaxin would be administered.
At the three other centres, only the second dose of Covishield would be given to people above the age of 45.
District Immunisation Officer Dr Meenu Sasan couldn’t be contacted.
