Justice Surya Kant to inaugurate legal convention on AI, ethics, access to justice
The transformative role of technology and interdisciplinary integration in shaping the future of the legal profession will take centre stage during the legal convention ‘Future Law: Innovate, Integrate, Impact.’ The conference, scheduled for September 28-29 in Chandigarh, will feature in-depth deliberations on how advancements like artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and other emerging technologies are revolutionising legal practice. It will also emphasise the need for integrating diverse legal perspectives to address evolving challenges in a globalised world.
All set to be inaugurated by Justice Surya Kant of the Supreme Court of India, the two-day event will explore critical issues such as AI-driven legal research, automated contract analysis, and the ethical considerations surrounding these technologies. The discussions will cover pressing topics like data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the potential impact of automation on legal jobs.
The convention’s five working sessions will span various legal domains, including constitutional law, corporate law, environmental law, human rights, and litigation practices. The sessions aim to equip the legal community with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate an increasingly complex and technology-driven legal landscape.
Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Sheel Nagu will be the guest of honour during the inaugural ceremony and the valedictory session. A ‘Walk-a-Thon’ for access to justice, led by high court judges, will mark the commencement of the convention, promoting awareness about legal aid services and access to justice for marginalised communities across Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
