Juvenile among three held for Gharuan carjacking
The police have arrested two Jalandhar youths and apprehended a juvenile from Khanna for robbing a taxi driver of the vehicle in Gharuan on January 17.
The trio, including Aspreet Singh and Hardeep Singh, had hired a taxi from Shimla to Samrala. When they reached Gharuan at night, they thrashed the taxi driver and fled with the vehicle.
The taxi driver, Lovepreet Singh, informed the police following which a hunt was launched. The police said the owner of the vehicle, Rajesh Sood of Ludhiana, had installed a GPS tracker in the vehicle through which the location of the vehicle was traced. The police arrested the suspects and recovered the vehicle from them. On a complaint of the car owner, a case under Sections 304 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at the Sadar Kharar police station on January 17.
