Juvenile arrested with illegal pistol
A case under the Arms Act was registered at the Pinjore police station
The police have apprehended a minor found in possession of a country-made pistol and a live cartridge.
According to ACP (Crime) Arvind Kamboj, a team of detective staff received information on November 14 that a youth was present near the Sukhomajri bypass bridge carrying an illegal weapon. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the team reached the spot and detained the suspect. His search led to the recovery of an illegal country-made pistol and a live cartridge.
A case under the Arms Act was registered at the Pinjore police station. During the preliminary inquiry, it emerged that the accused was a minor. He was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which sent him to the Ambala Juvenile Home.
Cops are investigating further to trace the source of the weapon and determine under what circumstances the minor obtained it. The team is examining possible links to weapon suppliers and criminal networks in order to uncover the supply chain.
