The police said the woman, identified as Suman, a resident of Kalka, had a record of dealing in drugs and her family was also involved in drug trade. She was arrested by the Pinjore police with 1.800-kg marijuana in 2018.

Her interrogation revealed that she had allegedly been in drug peddling for the past five years. Earlier, she was dealing in heroin also at Pinjore. Her late mother was sentenced to 10-year jail for smuggling marijuana. Her brother, Mintu, who was arrested with marijuana, is presently lodged in the Burail jail.

During investigation, it came to light that she purchases marijuana from Odisha at Rs1,000 per kg and sold it for Rs15,000 per kg through a Rohtak-based middleman.

Suman will be produced in a court to seek her police remand to ascertain the source of contraband.
