Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria conducted a surprise visit at Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, and the Sub-District Hospital in Mani Majra to assess healthcare services and infrastructure at the two hospitals.

At the GMSH, the Administrator inspected the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Post-Natal Ward, Labour Room and Advanced Paediatric Centre. He also examined the proposed site for the expansion of the Emergency wing, a project designed to reduce overcrowding and improve patient management in the Emergency Triage Area.

Kataria spoke to patients and their families and enquired about their health and the quality of services being provided at the hospital. He also checked cleanliness, availability of medicines, quality of meals, and patient privacy.

Health Secretary Ajay Chagti and Director Health Services (DHS) Dr Suman Singh were present on the occasion.

At the Mani Majra hospital, the Administrator inspected various departments, including Emergency, Medical Ward, Labour Room, and Gynae Ward. He interacted with patients and reviewed the hospital’s admission status.
