Kathak exponents weave magic

Chandigarh, November 17

Three-day national ‘Hemantotsav’, a bonanza of classical music and dances, concluded with a Kathak dance by Kavita Thakur and her disciples at Tagore Theatre here today.

The event was organised by the Pracheen Kala Kendra and witnessed tremendous footfall.

Dancers opened up with presentation-based ‘Sai Bhajan’. Thakur presented a solo Kathak item. She was supported by Abhishek Khichi, Mayukh Bhattacharyya and Sujata Gawade.

Earlier, the day witnessed a remarkable Sarod recital by Pt Joydeep Ghosh. He concluded his recital witha captivating ‘Dhun’ set to ‘Mishra Khamaj raga’.

He was accompanied by Pt Debashish Adhikary on tabla.

Kendra Registrar Shobha Koser and Secretary Sajal Koser honoured the artists. Dr Samira Koser gracefully conducted the stage.
