Kayakalp scheme: Mohali district hospital ranks second in Punjab



Mohali, May 27

The District Hospital here has secured the second position in Punjab in a competition held under the Kayakalp Award Scheme – an extension of ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’

Civil Surgeon Dr Adarshpal Kaur said: “Under the Kayakalap programme, health institutions are inspected every year on a number of criteria, including hygiene, seating arrangement, decoration, staff dress, drinking water, park, medical facilities, overall hospital environment…”

“On these criteria the District Hospital scored 80.2 marks out of 100,” she said.

“In the category of primary health centres, PHC Boothgarh secured first position in the district and eighth position in Punjab with 81 per cent marks,” Dr Adarshpal Kaur added.

She also informed that the Kharar Sub-Divisional Hospital secured 10th position in Punjab with 81.1 per cent marks and Sub-Divisional Hospital, Dera Bassi, bagged 17th position with 76.3 marks.

In the community health centre category, Dhakoli hospital has secured 34th position in Punjab with 77.30 per cent marks.

Similarly, in the category of urban primary health centre, the health centers at Majat and Mullanpur Garibdas have been ranked 4th and 12th, respectively, in Punjab.

Health and wellness centre at Seneta has secured fourth position in Punjab with 74 per cent marks, said Dr Adarshpal Kaur.

The Civil Surgeon lauded the efforts of all the stakeholders and hoped the officers concerned would work harder and more diligently next time to bring all the institutions of the district to the No. 1 position. — TNS
