Kazak’s Lomakin in next round
Kazakhstan’s Lomakin Grigoriy recorded a stunning win over Indian challenger Digvijay Partap Singh to clear the men’s singles first round of the main draw during the M15 Chandigarh ITF World Tour Tennis Men’s $15K prize money tournament conducted by the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) at the Sector 10 complex. Grigoriy won the first set 6-3, but Singh bounced back in the second with a stunning 6-7(0) win. In the decider, Grigoriy repeated his previous performance and ensured his place in the next round by recording a 6-3 win. Madhwin Kamath easily blanked Hitesh Chauhan 6-3, 7-5, while in another three-setter decider Dev Javia overpowered Chirag Duhan 6-4, 2-6, 6-3. Nitin Kumar Sniha moved ahead by defeating Ronit Gupta 6-1, 6-0.
Meanwhile, in the men’s doubles main draw first round, the pair of Filiberto Fumagalli and Aryan Lakshmannan defeated Jay Clarke and Grigoriy Lomakin 6-3, 1-6(10-7). The team of Parth Aggarwal and Rohan Mehra also moved ahead by defeating Lawrence Batajin and Raghav Jaisinghani 6-2, 7-6(4) and Sai Kartheek Reddy Ganta and Vishnu Vardhan ousted Ishaque Eqbal and Faisal Qamar 6-3, 6-3.
Kabir Hans and Atharva Sharma moved ahead by defeating Shanker Heisnam and Oges Theyjo Jaya Prakash 7-6(2), 6-2, while Karan Singh and Stefan Vujic defeated Joy Das and Shubh Negi 6-2, 6-3. Chirag Duhan and Dev Javia also marched into the next round by defeating Neema Arthav and Siddharth Vishwakarma 7-6(1), 6-3. The pair of Sidharth Rawat and Yash Yadav defeated Ronit Gupta and Dalwinder Singh 6-3, 6-4, while SD Prajawal Dev and Nitin Kumar Sinha outplayed Woobin Shin and Manish Sureshkumar 6-1, 6-7(3), (10-5).
