Keep up pace of projects, Banwarilal Purohit asks Chandigarh officials

New UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit held a meeting with all administrative secretaries and head of departments in the presence of Adviser Dharam Pal here today.

The secretaries gave a presentation and briefed the Administrator about the ongoing projects. While going through the presentations, the Administrator appreciated the work done by all allied departments and asked them to keep up the pace of the ongoing projects.

The Administrator shared his experience with the officers and emphasised: “Transparency, efficiency and time management are the key to good work. The working of our departments is the reflection of our Administration. We must work in a manner that the public is benefited without any hassle.”

Present among the officers were Praveer Ranjan, DGP, Dr Vijay Namdeorao Zade, Finance Secretary, Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Anindita Mitra, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Vinod P Kavle, Secretary, Food and Supplies, Yashpal Garg, CEO, Chandigarh Housing Board, SS Gill, Secretary (Personnel), along with other senior officials of the Chandigarh Administration.

Later, Purohit, along with Dharam Pal and other senior officials, held an introductory meeting with members of the Administrator’s Advisory Council.

For improving the effectiveness of the Council, Purohit asked the authorities to hold Council’s meeting in two parts. Of the 10 sub-committees of the 60-member council, a meeting of the members of five sub-committees should be held on one day, the members of the remaining five sub-committees should be held the next day, he stated. — TNS
