Kharar fuel station attendant injured as youths flee without paying

Two unidentified cat-borne youths fled from a filling station in Sunny Enclave, Kharar, without making the payment this morning, leaving an employee injured and a dispensing machine broken.

The incident took place around 1.43 am when the two youths arrived at the petrol pump in their white-coloured sedan bearing a Ludhiana-based registration number.

They asked the attendant to refuel the full tank. On being asked about the mode of payment by employee, who has since been identified as Paramjit singh, they said they would pay in cash.

As soon as the petrol was filled, the car occupants, who were consuming a drink requested to change the mode of payment to online but failed to complete the transaction. When the employee asked them to turn off the ignition and step out of the car to settle the payment, they raced off, with dispenser hose still attached to the tank.

Another employee who witnessed the incident, Sushil Kumar, said, “This is the third time such an incident has taken place here. Paramjit has sustained injuries on face, shoulder and back. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.”

The incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the area. The station employees can be sen attempting to stop the car.

The police are investigating the matter.
