Harvinder succumbed to stab wounds in the stomach and neck. Lucky was admitted to a local hospital with serious injuries. He is out of danger. An old dispute is suspected to be the reason behind the attack.
A police team reached the spot and shifted the body to the Kharar subdivisional hospital for post-mortem. A forensic team also inspected the scene and collected evidence.
The police said the trio was consuming liquor in the market around 9 pm, but a fight broke out between them in the wee hours. It is suspected that the third friend, Mukund Bhaskar, an advocate, attacked Harvinder with a knife. When Lucky tried to intervene, the assailant injured him too, and fled the spot.
Kharar DSP Karan Singh Sandhu said, “The suspect has been arrested and the police are investigating the matter. A case under Sections 103 and 109 of the BNS has been registered at the Kharar City police station.”
