Interacting with the media, after laying the foundation stones of the tubewell projects and a park at a public gathering in Ward 12 of Kharar, the MLA said, earlier about 12 tubewells worth Rs 4.25 crore had been installed in Kharar city. She said commissioning of more tubewells worth Rs 4.25 crore was also in the offing.

She said projects worth Rs 158 crore had been approved to overcome the drinking water and sewerage disposal problems in the city. “Out of these, two sewerage projects worth Rs 30 crore will be set-up to address the issue of overflowing sewage in the city.”

She promised that the administration was going to float a drinking water project worth Rs 117 crore which would be completed within a year and water would be provided from Kajauli water works.

Reiterating her commitment to the overall development of Kharar, she said the earlier governments did not pay heed to the demands of the city’s residents and now the AAP government was trying to fulfill all the needs of Kharar’s residents.

She said the mushrooming of illegal constructions had blocked the natural course of water in the city, resulting in stagnation of rainwater. This problem would also be resolved in the coming days, she assured the residents.

Meanwhile, the government would repair all roads in Kharar that were in need of repairs and provide basic facilities, including streetlights, sewer connectivity and drinking water, she said.

Responding to MP Kangna Ranuats’ comments on Punjabi youth, who visit Himachal Pradesh, she said the MP was trying to defame the state’s youth and following a particular ‘agenda’ which was intolerable.
