Khushi Aggarwal defeated Mudra 6-5 13-0 to win the girls’ sub-junior title on the concluding day of the 34th Chandigarh State Carrom Tournament at St Stephen’s School, Sector 45. In semifinals, Mudra defeated Kashika Verma 16-0 3-1 and Khushi overpowered Samaira Madaan 21-0 14-0.
Mohammed Sameer won the boys’ sub-junior final by defeating Mohammed Armaan 21-0 21-0. Before setting up the title clash, Sameer defeated Imraan 21-0 21-0 and Armaan ousted Advik 2-1 4-0.
In the men’s final, Himanshu Shekhar recorded a 19-18 25-15 win over Paras Arora to pocket the title. In semis, Shekhar defeated Sudhir Sidhu 25-0 21-16 and Arora overpowered a tough challenge by Mohammed Talib 5-25 21-9 20-3. Nidhi Gupta won the women’s final by defeating Ayesha 25-14 25-2. Earlier, Nidhi faced a tough resistance from Vaidhavi Mamgain before logging a 25-6 2-25 25-14 win, while Ayesha defeated Sangini Mamgain 25-14 8-25 25-0.
