More than 10 female kidney donors were felicitated on Women’s Day by Ivy Hospital.

Prakarti (28), did not gave a second thought when doctors told her about kidney transplant of her mother. She came forward and offered her kidney to her mother in February last year.

“For me, my mother is everything. I cannot see her in pain. Offering my kidney to her is like repaying a small part of affection,” said Prakarti.

Another donor, Jinny Kapoor, came forward to save life of her husband Sandeep Kapoor, who underwent the transplant seven months agao.

Gagandeep Kaur (21) saved her ailing father by donating her kidney.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
