Kidney transported from Jalandhar to Mohali via green corridor saves man life
A kidney was transported through a green corridor from Jalandhar to Mohali to give a new lease of life to a 62-year-old male patient from Kurukshetra who underwent a cadaveric kidney transplant at Livasa Hospital in Mohali today.
The two kidneys of a brain dead patient were harvested at Shriman Hospital, Jalandhar, by a team of doctors led by Dr Avinash Srivastava, director, urology & renal transplant at Livasa Hospital.
The kidney was brought to Mohali through a green corridor with the help of the Punjab Police and local administrations of Jalandhar, Phagwara, Nawanshahr, Ropar and Mohali for swift and safe shifting of organs. Another kidney was transported to Aykai Hospital Ludhiana by creating a different green corridor.
